Deadhorse Trailhead Campground is a small campground located on the northern slope of the Uinta Mountains at an elevation of 8,490 feet. It is adjacent to Deadhorse Trailhead which offers access to the Deadhorse OHV trail system. This campground has 4 single camp sites each with a picnic table and fire ring. A vault restroom is available. A thin forest of lodgepole pine, ponderosa pine and aspen covers the area, providing very little shade. Summer wildflowers and grasses dot the campground. A variety of wildlife makes its home around the lake, including moose and deer.
Deadhorse Trailhead Campground is a central place to camp while enjoying the ATV trails. Trails are also open for hiking, horse riding, and mountain biking.
CampFinder checks Recreation.gov every 30 minutes, around the clock, and emails you when a booked-up night opens back up. That catches most cancellations, which sit open for hours; at the few campgrounds that refill in seconds it can miss the race. Set up a free availability alert for Deadhorse Trailhead Campground.
