Located alongside the South Fork Salmon River, Buckhorn Bar Campground has 9 campsites, and an additional four walk-in, tent only sites.
This location is available on a first-come, first-served basis only. Visitors are required to physically arrive at the campground to purchase and claim a site. Once on-site, you may be able to pay for your campsite(s) by scanning a QR code using the Recreation.gov mobile app, and the Scan and Pay feature. If this option is available, you will need to first download the free Recreation.gov mobile app https://www.recreation.gov/mobile-app prior to your arrival as some remote areas have limited or no cellular service. There are nine campground units, four walk-in sites with tables, fire rings, grills, handicapped accessible toilets and drinking water. Fishing and rafting in the South Fork of the Salmon River.
CampFinder checks Recreation.gov every 30 minutes, around the clock, and emails you when a booked-up night opens back up. That catches most cancellations, which sit open for hours; at the few campgrounds that refill in seconds it can miss the race. Set up a free availability alert for Buckhorn Bar.
