About

Hemlock Lake Campground sits at a beautiful 28-acre, man-made reservoir surrounded by stands of mixed conifers. This reservoir is 33 feet at its deepest point. It is stocked with trout which provides for good fishing from the banks or by boat. Hike the loop around the lake, sit at the nearby picnic area, or put your boat in at the boat ramp. OHV Trail Access Fishing Canoeing/Paddling Boarding/Kayaking Boating - non-motorized HikingFor facility specific information, please call (541) 440-4930.14 tent/trailer sites Two vault toilets Each site has a picnic table and fire ring Grey water waste sumps First come, first serveVisitors to the Umpqua National Forest are often taken aback by the unique landscapes of southwestern Oregon. High Cascades glaciation, whitewater rapids, and explosive geologic events have shaped the distinctive landscape on the 983,239 acres of forest that provides spectacular scenery as well as an abundance of natural and cultural resources. Verdant stands of hemlock, fir and cedar transition to forests of mixed conifers and hardwoods at lower elevations, while alpine ecosystems dominate high peaks. The translation of the word "Umpqua," meaning "thundering waters," defines the area. The Forest's waterways and diversity create desirable habitat for many species of fish and wildlife, in addition to providing outstanding recreational opportunities to our local communities and visitors.Yellow Jacket Loop Trail#1522 Yakso Falls Trail#1519 Grotto Falls Trail#1503 Hemlock Falls Trail#1520 Lake in the Woods Campground
