Nordheimer is in the heart of the Salmon River whitewater area. Rafting activities begin in early spring and continue until the water levels drop too low, usually in early summer. Nordheimer is a must for those seeking beauty and seclusion. Remnants from historic mining operations can still be seen in this remote but beautiful camping area. A few fruit trees remain from past homesteading activities. Boat access through the campground to the river’s edge is available for 4x4 vehicles.

Availability at Nordheimer Main Campground

CampFinder checks Recreation.gov every 30 minutes, around the clock, and emails you when a booked-up night opens back up. That catches most cancellations, which sit open for hours; at the few campgrounds that refill in seconds it can miss the race. Set up a free availability alert for Nordheimer Main Campground.
