Only a short drive from metro Halifax/Dartmouth, Porters Lake Provincial Park is the perfect escape from the urban rush, yet the park is close enough for day trips to visit the many attractions found in the metro area. The quiet lakeside setting offers a wide range of outdoor opportunities including camping, boating, canoeing, water skiing, fishing, and swimming. The park offers an 80-site campground (71 Partially Wooded; 9 Open), picnic areas, boat launch, comfort station (showers and flush toilets), and hiking trails. The small unsupervised campers beach is ideal for family fun. Serviced and Unserviced sites are offered. Water taps and vault toilets are conveniently located throughout the campground. Located just 28 km (17 mi.) east of Dartmouth, the park is 5 km (3 mi.) south of Exit 19 from Highway 107, on the West Porters Lake Rd.
CampFinder checks Nova Scotia Parks every 30 minutes, around the clock, and emails you when a booked-up night opens back up. That catches most cancellations, which sit open for hours; at the few campgrounds that refill in seconds it can miss the race. Set up a free availability alert for Porters Lake Provincial Park.
