Jutting out into the famous Mira River and mid-way between Sydney and Fortress Louisbourg National Historic Site, Mira River is the perfect escape. It is close enough for day trips into the city or the many attractions found in the area. The quiet water-side setting offers a wide range of outdoor opportunities including camping, walking, boating, canoeing, water skiing, fishing, and swimming. The park offers a 156-site campground (65 Wooded; 41 Partially Wooded; 50 Open), 2 comfort stations (showers and flush toilets), 2 dishwashing stations, picnic area, playground, boat launch, walking trail, and a large unsupervised beach ideal for families to play. Serviced and Unserviced sites are offered. Water taps and vault toilets are conveniently located throughout the campground. Located on the Brickyard Road, 3 km (2mi.) east of Albert Bridge. The park is 21 km (13 mi.) south of Sydney on Route 22.
CampFinder checks Nova Scotia Parks every 30 minutes, around the clock, and emails you when a booked-up night opens back up. That catches most cancellations, which sit open for hours; at the few campgrounds that refill in seconds it can miss the race. Set up a free availability alert for Mira River Provincial Park.
