Just a few kilometres from one of Nova Scotia's points of entry, Caribou-Munroes Island Provincial Park makes a marvelous stop on your way to or from Prince Edward Island. A mile long sand beach offers some of the warmest saltwater swimming north of the Carolinas and the campground provides excellent opportunities for camping, or just appreciating nature. The park offers a 95-site campground (39 Wooded, 21 Partially Wooded, 35 Open), comfort station (showers and flush toilets), dishwashing station, all gender/family accessible shower and flush toilet (Loop A), picnic areas, and an unsupervised beach. Serviced and Unserviced sites are offered. Water taps and vault toilets are conveniently located throughout the campground. Located 10 km (6 mi.) northeast of the junctions of Routes 6, 106, and 376 on Nova Scotia's Northumberland Shore, 4 km (2.5 mi.) east of the Caribou / Wood Islands (PEI) ferry wharf.
CampFinder checks Nova Scotia Parks every 30 minutes, around the clock, and emails you when a booked-up night opens back up. That catches most cancellations, which sit open for hours; at the few campgrounds that refill in seconds it can miss the race. Set up a free availability alert for Caribou Munroes Provincial Park.
