Prelude Lake Territorial Park

About

Prelude Lake Park is located on Hwy 4 (Ingraham Trail) 30 km from the city of Yellowknife. The park is popular among locals for hiking, swimming, power boating, and watersports. The campground offers 67 non-powered campsites that can accommodate a variety of equipment types and 12 walk-in tent sites. The park’s sandy beach, large marina and boat launch allow visitors to enjoy a wide range of water activities. The lake about 16 km long, stretches east and west and forms part of the Cameron River system. There are several islands, and many pleasant places to fish for trout and pike. The park’s trail system includes a short (0.5 km) hike to a panoramic view of the lake and a longer interpretive hike along the nature trail loop; follow a series of informative signs along the way, with pictures the whole family will enjoy!

Availability at Prelude Lake Territorial Park

CampFinder checks Northwest Territories Parks every 30 minutes, around the clock, and emails you when a booked-up night opens back up. That catches most cancellations, which sit open for hours; at the few campgrounds that refill in seconds it can miss the race. Set up a free availability alert for Prelude Lake Territorial Park.
