Kusawa Lake Campground

About

Kusawa Lake Campground presents stunning mountain views, and with binoculars you may see Dall Sheep on the surrounding mountains. Kusawa Lake is popular for boating, fishing and hiking. The campground is located in a pine and spruce forest along the edge of Kusawa Lake. The campground consists of 3 separate loops, all of which have shoreline access. There is a playground, boat launch, docks and separate boat trailer parking available. The lower Takhini River begins at Kusawa Lake, and many kayakers and canoeists launch their river journey at the campground. The Tlingit name Kùsawu.â* means “narrow lake” while the lake’s Southern Tutchone name Nekhų Män, “rafting across lake,” refers to its narrowest point where people could easily cross. Takhini River Campground is only 6 kms to the north of Kusawa Lake Campground. Please note: Kusawa Lake Road is gravel and can often be very bumpy and dusty.

Availability at Kusawa Lake Campground

CampFinder checks Yukon Parks every 30 minutes, around the clock, and emails you when a booked-up night opens back up. That catches most cancellations, which sit open for hours; at the few campgrounds that refill in seconds it can miss the race. Set up a free availability alert for Kusawa Lake Campground.
